Crafting Table in Build and Defend Your Raft
Upgrade to unlock better gear — Scrap sink first, cosmetics and extra floor later.
The Crafting Table is the upgrade that the Build and Defend Your Raft description actually names: expand the raft, upgrade the Crafting Table to unlock better gear, then defend and raid. It is not a side bench for cosmetics. Every harpoon haul, Shop Scrap pack, and future code should hit this sink until the next gear tier is online. This page is the upgrade loop and the spend priority. It will not invent recipes, hidden tiers, or a plank-by-plank cost table the live UI has not shown.
If you just spawned, finish the first-hour pass on getting started so you know where the bench sits on the tiny boat. If you are placing tiles instead of feeding the table, how to build is the footprint argument that sends Scrap back here.
The upgrade loop
- Harpoon floating junk until gather objectives move (counters such as Gathered 0/5).
- Dump that haul into the table’s upgrade or craft options the UI actually lists.
- Unlock the next gear the table gates — weapons, stronger build pieces, whatever the current Saturday patch put behind this bench.
- Use the new gear to gather faster, hold a raid, or close a wall gap.
- Repeat until the next Saturday changes the ladder, then read the patch and repeat again.
That loop is the whole mid-game. Skipping step 2 to rush a second story is how Hour 1 boats stay Hour 1 while the thumbnail fort is a hundred hours of table feeds stacked on itself.
We will not number the tiers. If the UI shows a cost, pay that cost. If it does not, do not copy a fake number from a video title.
Scrap sinks, ranked
Scrap arrives three ways you can verify: harpoons, Shop Robux packs (50 / 150 / 500 Scrap for 49 / 249 / 499 Robux), and codes when they exist. As of 31 August 2026 the redeem table is empty; if a Saturday string lands, spend it using code rewards, which ranks this table first.
First: table upgrades that unlock gear. This is the multiplier. Second: defensive pieces that cover loot — walls, spikes, cannons — once the table has opened them. Third: raid kit for the steal you can actually survive. Last: flags, paint, extra floor, and anything that does not shoot, wall, or unlock.
Robux packs are optional. They do not skip the ranking. Buying 500 Scrap and dropping it on a decorative pier is still a bad sink.
Priority versus cosmetics
Official Hour 100 thumbs are loud: flags, stacked decks, cannons, chests. The cannons and chests are the table working. The flags are the leftover. If your raft has flags and a starter bench, you inverted the loop. Cosmetics do not unlock gear. The table does. Saturday patches may add new vanity; they still should not jump the queue ahead of the unlock that changes fights.
A useful check: would this spend help if a raider boarded in the next minute? Table upgrades, walls, and guns say yes. A flag says no. Put the flag down after the yes pile is empty.
Where the table sits on the raft
Keep the bench inside the core you can defend, next to chests, not on an open rim. A stolen session that also drops you off the upgrade loop is a double loss. Building pages cover compact cores; the table-specific rule is that the bench is loot. Treat it like a chest that happens to print gear.
If Crew is up, one player can feed the table while another harpoons. If you are solo, harvest a batch, dump it, then wall. Do not stand at the bench with the ocean at your back and the timer on empty.
After a Saturday patch
Updates ship weekly. When the patch notes mention new gear, open the table before you rebuild the skyline. New unlocks often sit here. Re-rank the Scrap pile the same day: table first, shell second, raid kit third, vanity last. Then go back to the harpoon.
Feed the bench until the next unlock is real. That is the Crafting Table guide — a loop, a ranking, and a refusal to invent the recipe card the UI has not posted.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common raft, raid, and code questions.
What does the Crafting Table do in Build and Defend Your Raft?
You upgrade it to unlock better gear. That is the official loop. Feed it Scrap from harpoons, Shop packs, or a future code before you buy cosmetics.
Should I upgrade the table or expand the raft first?
Place enough floor to stand and store, then upgrade the table. Extra deck without gear is sprawl. See how to build for footprint rules.
Do you list craft costs?
No. This wiki does not invent recipes. Pay the cost the live UI shows. If a video lists numbers we cannot see in-game, ignore them.
Should code Scrap go into the table?
Yes, first. Code rewards ranks the Crafting Table above defenses and raid kit. There were no working codes as of 31 August 2026.
Where should I place the table?
Inside the defended core next to loot, not on an open rim. First-hour placement is covered in getting started.
