Build and Defend Your Raft September 6 2026 — Biggest Update Yet
Mortar, Tesla Coil, Shark Head trophy, Blueprints, Pirate Sword and Gun, inventory rework, and balance changes verified.
The Saturday content drop on 6 September 2026 landed as the game’s biggest update yet. Two new defenses, a new trophy system, a Blueprint recipe unlock system, weapon visible-wear display, and significant balance changes. This page covers every verified addition and change.
New defenses: Mortar and Tesla Coil
Mortar — a close-range defensive piece that lobs homing explosive shells at enemies who board your raft.
- It is close range — it defends the deck, not the water perimeter. Cannons still own the outer lane.
- Shells home in, catching the sprint-to-the-chest play that plain turrets can whiff on.
- Requires open sky: no roofed section above it.
- Upgrades via the Hammer (Tier III available in the store).
- Destroyed defenses now rebuild themselves after a fight.
Tesla Coil — chains lightning onto nearby enemies.
- Walls block the beam, so it wants the open approach lane, not a nook in your build.
- Upgrades via the Hammer (Tier III available in the store).
- Like Mortar, it rebuilds itself after destruction.
See the cannons guide for Mortar placement and the turrets guide for Tesla Coil.
Shark Head trophy and Shark Teeth
The September 6 update gave shark hunting its own progression:
- Sharks now drop Shark Teeth on top of the regular resource table — a dedicated trophy currency.
- Defeat the Shark five times to unlock the Shark Head, a wall-mounted trophy for your raft (first shown in a developer leak the day before the patch landed).
The Shark Head is a first-week goal: the drop table already made sharks the best risk-priced mob in the game, and now the kill count pays too. See the sharks guide for safe farming patterns.
Blueprints: recipes that unlock by playing
Blueprints are a new recipe unlock system that sits on top of Crafting Table levels. New recipes now unlock by playing, rather than solely through Crafting Table progression.
The exact Blueprint list is not yet published in a confirmed source. When the community maps the unlock conditions, this page will be updated. See the Crafting Table guide for how the two systems stack.
Pirate Sword and Pirate Gun
The patch shipped the Pirate Sword and Pirate Gun — the sword is the runed greatsword that leaked the day before, worn as a back accessory. The Gun is its ranged counterpart.
Key details:
- Unlocked through normal play progression (exact unlock condition unconfirmed as of this patch date)
- Worn visibly: Sword on back, Gun on hip — visible kit, not hidden inventory
- The inventory rework that shipped alongside means you can swap freely between all owned weapons
The harpoon range reduction for Tiers 2-4 (see below) indirectly buffs close-range kit like the Pirate Sword.
Inventory rework: sword on back, gun on hip
The inventory system was reworked:
- You can now swap freely between every owned weapon.
- Weapon tiers can be collected in any order — no forced sequence.
- The Sword displays on your back; the Gun sits on your hip.
This makes visible loadout display a feature, not a bug.
New cosmetic items
The September 6 patch also added:
- Tables and sittable chairs — functional furniture for the raft deck
- Flag banners with a purple squid-emblem design (first shown in a developer preview before the patch)
- The Lock Raft and Crew screen buttons received visual updates (shown in pre-patch developer screenshots)
See the building guide for where cosmetics fit in the build priority order.
Balance changes
- Harpoon range reduced for Tiers 2-4 — extreme-distance loot pulling is weaker than before
- Gold from Floating Chests significantly reduced — gold gathering is harder
- Kill counts now save across sessions — shark kill progress, for example, persists
Codes after this patch
The first ever code, BIGBITE, dropped alongside this patch: 50 Wood + 50 Metal. Check the codes hub for the current list and redemption steps.
What to do after this patch
- Open Shop and check for new redeem strings.
- Reopen the Crafting Table — new Blueprint unlocks may have appeared.
- Place a Mortar on your deck (open sky required) and a Tesla Coil on an open approach lane.
- Walk the spike lip and check that the new defenses do not block cannon lines.
- Take the Shark Head as a first-week goal: farm five shark kills.
- Favorite the Roblox page so the next Saturday is not a surprise.
This patch was large enough that treating every item above as a potential reset of your current tier or build priority is the right instinct. See how to defend and tier list for the updated meta.
